Calls screen: waiter calls, bill requests and sound alerts

Keep Panel › Floor › Calls open on waiters' phones or tablets; a sound plays for every new call.

Schritte

  1. Open Panel › Floor › Calls (visible to waiter, manager, owner and kitchen roles).
  2. Tap "Turn on sound alerts" once; the choice is remembered on this device. Next time just tap the screen once.
  3. When a call arrives, tap "I'm on my way"; the guest sees "Waiter is coming" with your first name.
  4. Tap "Done" when finished.
  5. Owners and managers can turn water and help requests on or off, and set the wait time and hourly limit per table in "Call settings".

How the screen works

  • The list refreshes every 5 seconds, oldest call first. Card colour shows the type: orange waiter, green bill, blue water/help.
  • Bill requests show the guest's chosen method (Cash or Card — bring the terminal) and the remaining amount at the time of the request.
  • If your tables have areas, use the area buttons to see only your section; the choice is remembered on the device.
  • Calls waiting longer than 2 minutes get a red frame and a short reminder sound every 30 seconds.

Sound

  • Waiter calls play two tones; bill requests play three rising tones.
  • Browsers do not play sound without a tap, so "Turn on sound alerts" is pressed once and the screen must be tapped once each time the page opens.
  • The phone's silent mode and volume apply. Keep the screen unlocked; phones that support it also vibrate.
  • If you allow "Desktop notification", a notification also appears on computers while the tab is in the background.

Other screens

The live floor page shows a short call list and a sound button at the top. The kitchen / bar display shows calls in its own list and plays the same sound.

Response times

Owners and managers see, at the bottom of the Calls page, call counts and average "on my way" and completion times per staff member and day for the last 7 days.
