Краткий ответ

A price list must be displayed at every entrance and on the tables. The table list may be offered by QR code, but a printed list must be given to any customer who asks. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, from 1 July 2026 ingredient and calorie information must be visible before ordering, starting with national chains.

Главное

  • A QR menu alone does not satisfy the price-list obligation; a printed list must be provided on request.
  • Price lists belong at the entrance and on the tables; every charge other than the price must be listed.
  • Ingredient and calorie information became mandatory for national chains from 1 July 2026; follow official sources for other businesses.
  • The information may be shown on menus, boards, digital screens or table QR codes.
  • Stating portion size and allergens clearly helps both compliance and customer trust.

Ingredient and calorie information (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry)

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, mass-catering venues must make the ingredient and calorie information of food and drinks visible before the customer orders. The requirement started on 1 July 2026 with national chain businesses.

The information may be provided on menus, wall boards, digital screens or QR codes on tables. The announcement also covers nutrition and allergen information and refers to the Turkish Food Codex labelling guide for details.

Missing information can be reported via the Güvenilir Gıda mobile app or the ALO 174 food hotline.

The press reports different dates for non-chain businesses; check the Ministry’s official texts for this timeline.

Price lists: entrance and tables (Ministry of Trade)

Under the amendment to the Price Tag Regulation published in the Official Gazette of 11 October 2025, no. 33044, food and beverage businesses must display a price list at every entrance and on the tables.

The table list may also be offered by QR code, but a printed list must be given to any customer who asks. Every charge other than the price must be shown on the list.

According to Ministry of Trade statements, offering a menu only by QR code does not satisfy this obligation, and administrative fines may apply.

Is a QR menu enough on its own?

No. A QR menu complements the printed price list; it does not replace it. A safe setup: a visible price list or QR sign at the entrance with the note “A printed price list is available on request”, a QR code on each table and a printed list when asked.

Service, cover and table charges

News reports published in January 2026 stated that restaurants, cafés and patisseries may not charge service, cover or table fees and that tipping is optional.

Check the Official Gazette number and scope of this rule in official sources. On MekanBook these charges are not added to bills by default for venues in Turkey.

How to show portions and allergens

Make clear what the price buys, e.g. “Haydari – 1 person, 100 g”. If you charge per person, say “per person” on the menu.

Show allergens next to each item, ideally with a numbered legend. Only publish calorie values you have verified.

Compliance checklist

  • Is there a price list or QR sign with the printed-list note at every entrance?
  • Is there a price list (printed or QR) on the tables, and can a printed list be given on request?
  • Are prices shown including all taxes, with the date the price applies from?
  • Is every charge other than the price listed?
  • Are portion size and “per person” pricing clear?
  • Are ingredients, allergens and calories visible before ordering?

How MekanBook helps you comply

  • Portion, ingredient, 14-allergen, verified calorie and diet fields for every item, with a checklist of incomplete items.
  • Printable price lists for entrance and tables; a door sign with the “printed price list on request” note.
  • The date a price applies from is shown on the menu automatically; service/cover charges are off by default for venues in Turkey.
